The end of microcosm

Interactive installation

The work is inspired by Dream of Life – Alan Watts.

The installation using 2 microscopes to present the metaphor life.

The audience can constantly change the magnification and observe the three slides of “Lanugo”, “Cardiac muscle” and “Cancer tissue”, linking the smallest structure to the macroscopic world.

Thus the scale of reality are no longer bound. Under the microscope, one can see the cradle and baby inside the baby’s hair, the city and the flow inside the cell, and even the entire universe.
Lives and matters are like the universe, never ending.

After observation, viewers can take the slides away. So the story of microcosm would never end.
